Kory Burns will be in NYC this weekend to perform his seductive new R&B pop track about inviting that special someone home to put nothing on… but the radio.

The pop singer says he was inspired to write "Radio" from his years hosting parties at nightclubs in Miami. “There were those nights where you would see someone and just think, ‘I wanna take you home right now!’ So you try and sometimes it would happen and sometimes... anytime I tried, I succeeded,” he laughs.

His co-writers on "Radio" are Sean McMillion (best known for his work with Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Snoop Dog) and Carlos Battey, Grammy winner for his dance remix of Madonna and David Guetta’s “Revolver.”

The performance will take place Friday at 10:30pm at Rebar Chelsea, 225 West 19th St. Music will be by DJ Susan Levine.

Kory Burns grew up in South Florida, the only child of a single mother. He met the late singer-songwriter Betty Wright, the famed soul and R&B singer best known for her 1970's hits "Clean Up Woman" and "Tonight Is the Night," when he was in high school.  Betty appreciated Kory’s eagerness and his drive to always do the work that was put in front of him. She lent her expertise to several of Kory's tracks, including “Count the Ways” and “Runaway."

“I think I’m more determined now than ever before,” Kory reflected on the eve of the release of his latest single, "Radio". “I’m no longer afraid or worried about being perfect and I’m learning to really enjoy this journey and embrace my unique sound and look.”

He says "Radio" is different from his last single, ‘Follow the Leader’ because while the previous single had a strong message, this one does not. "'Radio' is more upbeat, feel good, fun and flirty because that’s what the world needs right now.”
